The 16 Stadiums of FIFA World Cup 2026
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the first edition staged across three countries and the first to be played in 16 stadiums — more venues than any World Cup before it. Eleven are in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada, with the tournament's footprint stretching from Vancouver on the Pacific coast to Miami on the Atlantic, and from Mexico City in the south to Toronto in the north.
The tournament opens on June 11, 2026 at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City — the only stadium to have hosted two previous World Cup finals (1970 and 1986) and, with a capacity of over 87,000, the largest venue at the 2026 tournament. The final is held on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside New York City, in front of more than 82,000 fans.
Most of the American venues are home to NFL teams and are among the most modern stadiums in world sport — including the state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, AT&T Stadium in Dallas, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, all of which feature retractable roofs or fixed canopies. Canada contributes BC Place in Vancouver and BMO Field in Toronto, while Mexico adds Estadio BBVA in Monterrey and Estadio Akron in Guadalajara alongside the legendary Azteca.
With 104 matches spread across these 16 venues over five weeks, the geographic scale of World Cup 2026 is unprecedented — teams and fans will travel thousands of kilometres between host cities. KickD tracks every match at every stadium live, with real-time scores, group standings and the full knockout bracket. Click any match on the results page to see its venue, lineups and report.
