Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains how KickD sources, displays, and maintains football data and news content, and how we handle corrections and user feedback.
Contents
1. Data Sources
KickD sources all live match data — scores, fixtures, lineups, statistics, and standings — exclusively from API-Football (api-football.com), a professional sports data provider operating under commercial licensing agreements with football governing bodies and leagues worldwide.
News content is aggregated via official RSS feeds from established sports publishers including BBC Sport, Sky Sports, The Guardian, ESPN, Reuters, Goal.com, and others. KickD does not author, alter, or editorially modify news content. All articles link directly to their original source.
2. Live Score Updates
Live match scores are refreshed every 60 seconds during active fixtures. The timestamp displayed alongside each match reflects the last successful data retrieval from our upstream provider.
KickD does not generate, estimate, or editorially adjust any match score or statistic. All data is passed through from the API without modification. In the event of a data discrepancy, we rely on API-Football's correction process, which typically resolves issues within minutes of the official result being confirmed.
3. Standings & Brackets
Group standings and knockout bracket data are updated automatically following each match result. Standings are calculated by our data provider in accordance with the official competition rules of each tournament or league.
For the FIFA World Cup 2026, tiebreaker rules (goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head record) are applied as per FIFA's official regulations. We do not manually adjust standings.
4. News Curation
News articles displayed on KickD are selected automatically from RSS feeds using keyword filtering to ensure relevance to football topics. Our algorithm prioritises recency (articles published within the last 24 hours) and cross-source coverage (stories covered by multiple publishers simultaneously, which indicates broader significance).
KickD does not employ journalists or produce original news content. We are a news aggregator. All intellectual property rights in the original articles remain with the respective publishers. Clicking any news headline takes the reader directly to the original source website.
5. Accuracy Standards
We are committed to displaying accurate football data. Our accuracy standards include:
• All match data is sourced from a single, professionally maintained API with commercial data agreements • News is only displayed from established, verifiable sports publishers • Scores, statistics, and standings are never manually entered or estimated • We do not publish predictions, opinions, or analysis as facts
Where data errors are identified — whether by our team or reported by users — we investigate and correct within 24 hours of confirmed identification.
6. Correction Policy
If you believe any data displayed on KickD is incorrect, we encourage you to report it via our Contact page, selecting "Report a data error" as the topic.
Upon receiving a correction request: 1. We verify the reported error against official competition records 2. If confirmed, we alert our data provider and apply any available manual override 3. We aim to resolve confirmed errors within 24 hours 4. We do not issue formal correction notices for live score discrepancies that resolve automatically as match data updates
7. Update Frequency

8. Editorial Independence
KickD is an independently operated platform. We have no commercial relationship with FIFA, UEFA, or any football club, federation, or governing body that influences our data presentation.
