Brazil 3–0 Haiti: Cunha Brace and Vinícius Strike Send Seleção Top of Group C

Brazil responded to the surprise of their opening-night draw with Morocco in the most emphatic way possible, sweeping aside World Cup debutants Haiti 3–0 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The result was effectively settled inside the first half, with all three goals arriving before the interval, and sends the five-time champions to the top of Group C.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were patient early against a deep and disciplined Haitian block that began brightly and earned a fourth-minute booking for the willing Carlens Arcus. But once Brazil found their rhythm, the gulf in quality told.

Cunha Takes Centre Stage

The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute through Matheus Cunha, who arrived in the box to finish a flowing Brazilian move with composure. It was the goal Brazil's pressure deserved, and it transformed the contest.

Cunha doubled the lead in the 36th minute, this time on the end of a clever Vinícius Júnior assist for a clinical second. At 2–0, with Haiti unable to keep the ball or relieve the pressure, only the margin was in doubt.

Vinícius Caps the Rout

The third arrived in first-half stoppage time and carried the unmistakable stamp of individual class. Vinícius Júnior, set up by Lucas Paquetá, drove into the area and finished emphatically to make it 3–0 at the break.

Brazil eased through a quieter second half, content to manage the game with bigger tests to come. Douglas Santos was booked in the 65th minute and Haiti kept competing — Fafà Pierrot and Danley Jean Jacques both into the notebook — but there was no way back.

Group C Picture

The win moves Brazil to four points and top of Group C, level with Morocco, who also won on the same matchday. For Haiti, a heavy defeat does little to dampen the historic pride of competing on the world stage, but qualification now looks beyond them. Brazil, with Vinícius and Cunha finding form, look every bit the contenders.
