Scotland 0–3 Brazil: Vinícius Júnior Double Sends the Seleção Through

Vinícius Júnior scored twice and Matheus Cunha added a third as Brazil beat Scotland 3–0 in Miami to top Group C and end Scottish hopes of the knockouts.

Brazil signed off the group stage in style, brushing aside Scotland 3–0 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens to top Group C, with Vinícius Júnior's first-half double setting the Seleção on their way and offering an early reminder of their title credentials.

Scotland needed a result to keep their own hopes alive and started with intent, but they were soon chasing shadows. Vinícius struck early, finishing Rayan's pass on seven minutes, and doubled his tally in first-half stoppage time, this time set up by Bruno Guimarães. The speed and movement of the Brazilian front line stretched a brave Scottish defence to breaking point, and the gap in quality was obvious long before the interval.

Vinícius and Cunha Cut Loose

Matheus Cunha made it 3–0 on the hour, again created by the influential Bruno Guimarães, to put the result beyond any doubt. From there Brazil simply managed the game, rotating possession, conserving energy and easing through the closing stages with the contest long won — the hallmark of a side comfortable in its own class.

Scotland, to their credit, kept running and never stopped competing, but they could not contain Brazil's pace and invention and ultimately fell well short of the result their tournament required.

Title Contenders Find Their Stride

For Brazil, it was the kind of statement performance that puts the rest of the field on notice. Vinícius looks sharp and decisive, Bruno Guimarães is pulling the strings, and the Seleção carry the swagger of a team that believes this is their year. Topping the group keeps their path as kind as possible heading into the knockouts.

Group C Picture

Brazil top Group C on seven points, level with Morocco and through to the Round of 32 in commanding form. Scotland finish third on three points, their tournament hanging by the slenderest of threads as they await the best third-placed reckoning.
